C'est la décadence la plus totale, on ne fait plus la distinction entre la boue, les vieilles pompes, les casquettes, les anglais, les français, les bretons. Tout le monde semble crier 'Oh come on!' à n'importe quel moment. Le quintet remarque peut être l'hystérie collective et fait durer le plaisir d'un ou deux refrains. A partir de là, c'est tout autre chose, Yannis tente même de communiquer (même si c'est pour dire "Bonsoir, I saw the devil, Je t'aime, Je t'aime, Je t'aime").

Olympic Airways est rudement bien pensée pour un festival, ça fait des plombes que je rêvais d'hurler 'let's disappear til tomorrow' entourrée de gens tout aussi naïfs. Je peux enfin déclarer ma flamme pour Heavy Water en public, c'est finalement celle qui aura envoyer le plus. Oh et puis Electric Bloom, ça fait six mois qu'elle me sauve la vie, alors on explose, on verra bien ce qu'il restera demain matin.

Bientôt l'Epicerie Moderne (ou Lightening Bolt, je suis sûrement la seule à hésiter entre les deux écoles).

Ils risquent de réconcilier pas mal de gens avec leur garage, et peut être même de sauver le genre, comme ça, incognito.

Préparez vous les gars, l'été 2009 est sous le signe des bermudas en jean coupés au dessus des genoux. C'est dur, je sais, ça fera pour les ballerines. L'homme enlève son pull avec un déhanché imparable, ce qui nous laisse entrevoir avec joie un tshirt 'Witty Wolf Won'. Le mec de Fog est tout content d'être là, ça fait plaisir. On me délaisse pour No Age à l'espace fnac. A peine ai-je le temps de me remettre de mes émotions, que vois-je, Randy Randall, séduit par le tshirt Mario Bros 'Byte Me' de mon acolyte, qui sort son appareil photo jetable pour la prendre en photo. Un grand moment de déviance.

Vous trouverez sûrement d'autres comptes rendus de gens bien plus renseignés. Parce que pour le coup, à part admirer niaisement les confettis et fixer Jónsi, j'ai pas fait grand chose de productif côté synapses. La troupe entière vient saluer la foule. Quelques minutes plus tard, le quatuor revient applaudir avec nous, plein de frissons.

Si vous cherchez une salle à l'acoustique douteuse, courrez-y.
La première partie fut très entrainante malgré la maigreur de la foule (oui nous trainons dans des venues ou même les autochtones n'osent s'aventurer, le backpacker est téméraire car il n'a pas grand chose à perdre).
La demoiselle sait bien comment faire pour attirer l'attention sans trop abuser non plus. Sa voix est plutôt juste et claire, ça rime bien avec le reste. L'homme au xylophone est tout à fait charmant.
Le DJ décide de faire tourner In Rainbows entre les deux groupes, ce qui a un effet dramatique. Bière + Welsh guys + Nude = errr.
Milano je ne dirai rien. Non, rien par pur respect pour mon acolyte qui a apprécié et qui en parlerait sûrement mieux que moi.
Drame ! Le caveau-concert se transforme soudainement en club de la night (dont le DJ a au moins 80ans), nous sommes accostées par une bande de rigolos et la jeunesse fait finalement la queue pour aller se trémousser sur Banquet de Bloc Party. Les gens sont sympas, je reçois même un baise-main pour avoir dis que Buddy Holly était mon icône.

Le délire total, des photos partout, des carnets de paroles en tout genre : le paradis des fétichistes. Nous sommes complètement noyées d'informations. Les enfants ont même un espace spécial pour se déguiser en rock star et se prendre en photo sur un fond rose fluo.

Nous recommendons allègrement ce bar/pub/club/plub qui est ma foi fort sympthique, grand, très grand et rempli de gens plus où moins hype, plus ou moins perdus. La déco est funky mais pas trop, le DJ n'a pas l'air de s'emmerder, c'est déjà ça. Les Liverpooliens sont vraiment chouettes quand il s'agit de parler musique.

En résumé les anglais adooooorent leurs Ting Tings, le pire matelas du monde est à l'auberge de jeunesse d'Oxford, et tout fut merveilleusement épique.

Juste pour dire que la Blogothèque n'est pas perdue. Enfin ça dépend si vous aimez Bon Iver ou pas.

C'est comme si MacGyver avait subitement décidé de faire de la musique. Et le concept du mec du Wisconsin qui se terre dans sa cabane, s'improvise bûcheron et écrit un album à son ex, je trouve ça chouette. Même si très franchement, j'aimerais pas me prendre 'Skinny Love' en pleine face. Rien de bien dingue, on a presque l'impression d'entendre Laurent Voulzy sur 'Re-Stacks'. Mais la nuit, ça marche bien. En plus ses deux acolytes, ils sont indescriptibles.

Après Iron & Wine, ils s'attaquent aux premières parties de Wilco.
Ils vont venir à Lyon, on y croit.

+ Zooey Deschanel + les résultats des partiels, + Sascha Ring + le retour du mois de Juin, le vrai = "I told you to be patient, I told you to be balanced."

De passage à Nantes mi-décembre pour un court week-end de déraille et d'heures de TGV entièrement dévouées à Elliott Smith, je fus invitée de manière impromptue par mon humble hébergeur (aka ancienne copine de lycée pseudo-cinémartistique (le lycée pas la copine) aka future mate de backpacking anglais aka la fille qui a renversé un jury de Femis) à un ciné-concert au Cinématographe : Angil & The Hiddentracks se sont amusés à jouer sur L'Aurore de F.W. Murnau.

De prime abord, ça semble assez flippant, j'avoue, ça m'a fait le même effet. Néanmoins, il s'agit de l'un des trois films au programme de l'option cinéma du bac '06. Inutile de préciser que donc, du Murnau, on en a bouffé. Le vice a même été poussé jusqu'à l'apprentissage de l'orthographe des deux prénoms accompagnés du vrai nom du cher réalisateur. Il faut imaginer notre très peu sérieux professeur chantonner 'Friedrich Wilhelm Plumpe' -accentuation sur le 'plum'. Gravé dans ma mémoire à tout jamais.

Malgré les moults visionnages et la nostalgie morose, la fascination pour le géant (20cm de plus qu'Orson Welles s'il vous plaît) du muet americano-germanique subsistait. En plus ça sentait le plan foireux à plein nez, et nous on adore les plans foireux.

Résultat 1h27 de joie. C'est pas qu'ils ont pris beaucoup de risques au niveau de la composition, mais la justesse de l'écriture était très appréciable. Amplification totale de chaque séquence et de son climax, on les a ressentis puissance dix les roseaux. Mais si le sentimentalisme à deux balles n'était pas à l'ordre du jour *auréole de sainteté*, le frisson était au rendez-vous. Violons, petites nappes de xylophone, de quoi faire frémir la moustache de Peter Sarsdedt, et c'est dire.

Le plus marquant restera Mickaël Mottet susurrant les rares cartons du genre "Summertime, vacation time" ou "Leave all this behind...come to the city". Tout ça de manière très light et même parfois délicieusement comique (c.f. le tableau "les amoureux, le boeuf et l'enfant").

George O'Brien est merveilleux en homme faible -ou pas- de la première moitié du XXème siècle.

Pour tous les gens qui ont tiré L'Aurore le jour de l'oral et qui se sont dit "Ca va mal se terminer, je vais sortir un Janet Jackson ou un Gloria Gaynor, mais la Janet Gaynor je vais la planter".

Eh oui, Bradford Cox peut passer inaperçu et cela s'est passé pas plus tard que lundi soir. J'explique. Nous attendions patiemment que la soirée commence, bière à l'appui. Quand soudain ! Il, Lui, le maître est tranquillement venu s'asseoir sur l'un des canapés de la salle du Grrrnd Gerland pour écouter (regarder?) Julien Dupont. Et personne n'a cligné d'un cil (comment ça on cligne des yeux et bouge des cils), comme si, comme si rien. Pendant ce temps-là, à quelques centimètres, je gisais par terre toute pleine d'admiration. D'autres diront que tout ça est ridicule. Un rien m'intimide, je sais, j'y travaille. C'est tout de même assez nouveau pour moi de rencontrer ces gens, de sentir leur présence. Et là, c'est le drame ; je détourne mon attention, ne serait-ce qu'une demi-seconde et me voilà nez-à-nez avec Ben Chasny. Comment assimiler la signification totale du verbe "melt".

Bref, Julien Dupont. Le mot 'expérimental' ne sera pas lâché car il me semble que ça n'a rien d'une expérimentation, et que tout bruit, son ou autre est parfaitement dirigé. Je refuse toute opinion contraire. J'aime la position adoptée, j'aime la flûte, globalement j'aime le monsieur.

Un ex plus tard et il fallait que le temps s'accélère, l'attente était douloureuse. Tout ce dont je me souviens de Six Organs Of Admittance c'est que la demoiselle était gauchère et que le batteur a joué en pantoufles turquoises.

High Places débarque. La première chose qui vient à l'esprit est 'Rends ce t-shirt à Panda Bear, tout de suite'. Puis la confiance s'installe and so do the questions : 'de quelle manière ont-ils bien pu se rencontrer ?', 'd'où tient-elle cette voix ?' et forcément 'pourquoi donc est-ce que ça fonctionne aussi bien ?'. Le show s'achève sans réponses mais je ne suis pas frustrée pour autant, certaines parties s'étant montrées vraiment très agréables.

C'est l'heure de la liste sans intérêt n°1.
Hier, je dis bien hier, l'Ipod m'a parlé. Il m'a avoué que "Idioteque" durait plus de cinq minutes. Et là, j'étais bouche bée. S'en suit le calcul effarouché, si dans une heure il y a douze fois cinq minutes...j'ai passé une vingtaine d'heure à l'écouter.
Bref, elles durent plus de cinq minutes, et pourtant on y voit que du feu. Elles sont considérées comme longues, et pourtant elle sont souvent en mode repeat. Elles sont 15 et elles m'obsèdent. Il est inutile de préciser que je ne mentionnerai pas Sigur Ros, GYBE!, Explosions In The Sky, ou encore Mogwai -et j'en passe- qui considèrent la chanson longue comme fondement. Je veux parler des chansons longues spontanées parfois même accidentelles. Pas de Radiohead non plus. La raison principale étant qu'ils méritent au moins un article bien complet avant d'entrer dans une liste.
